VAT calculator
Add Irish VAT to a net price, or take it out of a price that already includes it.

How VAT is worked out
To add VAT, multiply the net price by the rate. To remove it, divide the gross price by 1 plus the rate; the difference is the VAT.
Example. A builder quotes €8,000 plus VAT at 13.5%. The VAT is €1,080, so you pay €9,080. If the quote had been €8,000 including VAT, the price before VAT would be €7,048.46 and the VAT €951.54.
